Starting July 2025, Colorado 

law mandates an 8-hour classroom component for Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) permits. This includes a written examination and a mandatory firearms proficiency demonstration. Students must successfully demonstrate the ability to safely and accurately handle a firearm while adhering to the Four Universal Rules of Firearm Safety. A passing score of 80% or higher is required on the written examination and 70% or higher is required for the firearms proficiency test.
